How Affiliate Links May Work
Some Fika Looks pages may include affiliate links to retailers, affiliate networks, brand stores, software platforms, or product pages. If a reader clicks one of those links and makes a qualifying purchase, Fika Looks may earn a commission at no additional cost to the reader.
Affiliate links are one way the publication can fund research time, writing, editing, site maintenance, image production, hosting, and future updates. They should not make a product more expensive for the reader, and they do not give Fika Looks access to a reader’s retailer account, basket, payment details, address, order history, returns, or private customer-service messages.
A page may also mention retailers or products without using an affiliate link. The presence or absence of an affiliate link should not be read as a promise that a product is the best choice for every reader.
Editorial Independence
Commercial relationships do not determine our editorial conclusions. A product, retailer, or service still has to fit the article, the wardrobe problem, the likely reader, and the practical use case before it belongs on the site.
We avoid invented best-of awards, fake testing claims, fake scarcity, unsupported ‘must buy’ language, and recommendations that only make sense because a commission exists. If a cheaper, simpler, more durable, easier-to-care-for, or non-affiliate option is the better editorial answer, the article should say so.
Brands and affiliate managers may provide programme information, product feeds, commission terms, samples, or image permissions. That information can help us understand an offer, but it does not buy wording, ranking, or guaranteed inclusion.
How We Judge Fit
Our guides usually consider proportion, fabric, climate, care burden, repeat wear, styling range, comfort, storage, return practicality, and cost-per-wear. These factors matter before commission rate. A high commission does not make a poor fit useful.
Where we do not have live product feeds, price checks, or hands-on testing, we avoid pretending otherwise. Readers should confirm current prices, stock, delivery terms, returns, size availability, warranty information, and final retailer details before buying.
Fashion and wardrobe advice is personal. A piece that works beautifully for one climate, body, commute, or lifestyle may be wrong for another. Our job is to explain the judgement behind a recommendation so readers can accept, adapt, or reject it with more confidence.
Disclosure Placement
Affiliate disclosure should be visible before or near commercial links where practical, and the site-wide disclosure remains available in the footer. We prefer plain wording over legal phrasing that readers cannot understand.
If a page receives sponsored support or a more direct commercial arrangement in the future, the disclosure should be updated so readers know the nature of that relationship before relying on the recommendation.
Brand and Network Contact
Affiliate managers, retailers, and brands can contact hello@fikalooks.com with programme details, regional availability, disclosure rules, product feeds, image permissions, commission terms, cookie windows, approval requirements, and restrictions. Commercial contact is welcome, but it does not guarantee coverage or favourable placement.
We may decline programmes that are poor fits for the publication, unclear about terms, difficult for readers to use, misleading in their claims, or inconsistent with the calm, practical wardrobe approach of Fika Looks.
